Fishing has been a part of my life (since my school days) on the Norfolk Broads, catching Bream, Roach and Perch in numbers and sizes not seen today (shame). My first foray for Trout was to Ardleigh Reservoir which is sadly now a course/Carp fishery.
Apart from my family fly fishing is a major part of my life, the fish we catch, the beautiful places we go to, to fish and the fish we catch fish is why I decided to pass on my knowledge to as many people as possible both young and old.
This is where being an instructor/coach comes in, as we have to be at the top of our professional tree. With a programme of CPPD ( continued personal professional development) the learning for us never stops. Additional training in First Aid, Safeguarding Children, and CRB checks which are updated on a regular basis.
I am a member of the following Associations G.A.I.A- Game Angling Instructors Association. Qualified to teach Single Handed Trout/Double handed Salmon A.P.G.A.I.- Advanced Professional Instructors Association Qualified to teach Double Handed Salmon.
Also a Very Proud member of the Hardy & Greys Academy this accolade has been endorsed on approx. 40 instructors throughout the British Isles. Again our aim is to introduce Fly fishing and our extensive knowledge of equipment to a wide range of the general public.
The A.D.B Angling Development Board. East Anglian organiser/ co-ordinator for Fly fishing for Schools, this fits in very well with my objectives to introduce children/adults to our sport of Fly fishing.
I arrange fishing trip world wide but my real pia- de-resistance is the lakes/lochs and rivers of Ireland fishing for Sea trout and Salmon.
Maybe I will see you on the river bank.
